Comparing the Popularity of Football and Cricket

       


We all know that Football and Cricket are two of the most popular sports across the globe. Nothing comes close to the popularity of these two sports. These two sports had felt people more united all across the globe.

While football is popular in whole world but popularity of cricket is limited to Commonwealth countries like India, Pakistan, Australia etc. The impact of these sports is immense in the whole world.    

                                                   

                                            


Both sports have their World Cups taking place after every four years. Football world cup which was held in Qatar 2022 was watched by 1.5 billion people all across the globe while Cricket world cup which was held in England was watched by 675 million people in whole world. 

Talking about South Asia especially India, Cricket is considered a religion here. Cricket players like Sachin Tendulkar, Virat Kohli, MS Dhoni and others are considered equal to God.

Football is widely popular in Europe and South America. A huge part of Europe's economy comes form football tourism. Some of the highest paid athletes in the world plays in Europe and earns millions of dollars. Some Europeans football clubs are big enough that their annual revenue can be compared with the GDP of some small countries.
